Berger-Seidle Express Stain (1 Quart)

Berger-Seidle Express stain is a fast drying oil based stain. It's the easiest way to do a custom color on your floor. 

It comes in a large selection of colors ranging from modern to brown and even to bright colors like blue! 

Should I use oil-based stain? 

All the sealers and finishes we offer are water based, so you may be wondering why we aren't offering a water based stain. That's because water based stains dry too fast during application. This makes for an uneven stain job. Almost every pro-floor company uses only oil-based stains, because it's the only way to get a nice looking stain job. 

So yes, we are recommend you use this oil based stain if your going to stain your floor. 

How much stain do I need for my wood floor? 

Stains cover 200-250 square feet of wood flooring per quart. We ALWAYS recommend getting extra stain. 

For an 800 square foot floor, we would recommend you get at least 5 quarts. 

Factors that will require you to buy extra stain!

Big gaps: As much as half of your stain maybe lost into the gaps. 

Pine or maple flooring: These types of wood absorb extra stain! Get 50% extra.

How do I apply wood flooring stain?  

Stain is penetrating product. You DO NOT apply it like paint. 

1. Get your floor sanded and vacuumed clean. 
2. Work in 3 foot wide sections down the floor. 
3. Wipe the stain on heavy, allow it to sit for 30 seconds, then wipe everything back off with clean rags. 
4. Allow the floor to dry for 12-18 hours before applying your sealer.
